Baja cup challenge…the RHINO!

Josh and Zack got to Glen Helen at 8 am for the pre-run practice.  They unloaded the spare tire’s and parts off the trailer, then unloaded the rhino.  They did two laps for pre-running and the first lap scared the shit out of them. They went down the Yamaha hill little to fast, Josh had to lock up the brakes and they almost went off the side of the hill.  Josh saved it and finished pre running.  Tech and registration went smooth after pre-running.  Then Hassim and Brandon from Engage Off Road did a tire change to the front two wheel’s.  The after market tires were to big and they rubbed on the fire wall, so those two put the stock size tires on the front for the race. The race started at 11:15 am instead of 2 PM, so the utv’s were racing with the bigger buggy’s and trucks. There were three UTV’s including Josh, Harley and Zack. Josh and Zack started the race at 11:16 am and in the first mile there was broken down car’s left and right. The fourth mile into the race, coming back into the Glen Helen’s motocross park there was a Baja bug up side down off the course. End of the second lap Johnny Greaves came out of no were and Josh didn’t see him and got in Johnny’s way for quick second, but moved out of the way. Zack was in the co driver seat for the first two laps.   Zack got out and Harley jumped in the third lap, she was in the rhino for two laps. For those two laps when Harley Tonelli was in the rhino her and Josh were running a good pace and got passed by Nick Tonelli on the third lap. The last Three laps the shocks, and the steering were starting to fade.  Josh was trying to save the rhino and not brake it.  Josh and Zack got the rhino across the finish line and finished his first race.
